Hey Francois, congratulations on building a great product. It deserves to attract a much higher ranking on hackernews that it has got. Might be worth waiting a few days and posting again.
I can imagine it sucks when you have worked so hard on a product and it does not get the recognition it deserves.
I have been working on a website builder of sorts but I have focused on the real estate sector. I haven't been successfull enough to be completely sure that my advice is correct but I suspect your tool would do better if it was more focused on one or two products. As a creator you are rightfully proud that when someone arrives on your site they have a lot of options. I personally found that overwhelming and confusing. Hope this little bit of feedback can help you improve your product rather than disappoint you.
Best of luck with it!!!!!
- ffournier 5y agoHi realty_geek, thanks for taking the time to give your feedback ! Even though it can always go better, I am very happy with the response. I got valuable feedback despite everyone's time being so tight ! About 500 additional visitors and 30 apps created through HN ! Your views confirm other feedback I got, and it's probably right, even if not very easy to admit as a tech-enthousiast. I have not found a way to make it simple for every user that hit the platform to find their way yet. Nowadays, if I know the profile of a user, I will direct them to the articles that introduce a specific application rather than the platform main page. For example, for the real estate world, it would be https://blog.simitless.com/app27-templates-property-rental-management/ https://blog.simitless.com/app27-templates-property-rental-m... or https://blog.simitless.com/app44-templates-home-hunting/ https://blog.simitless.com/app44-templates-home-hunting/. I am not sure yet if I should share the app model first or the article first. The corresponding apps models are https://simitless.com/en/a/templates-property-rental-management https://simitless.com/en/a/templates-property-rental-managem... and https://simitless.com/en/a/templates-home-hunting https://simitless.com/en/a/templates-home-hunting. What do you think about this particular approach? Thanks again for your feedback!
- realty_geek 5y agoI'm happy to hear you got a lot of extra visitors and new apps created. I imagine that if you get a significant number of users you will be able to figure out which use cases are most popular and worth focusing on. The real estate implementations are nice but to be honest the functionality provided right now by those templates don't seem sufficient to make many people willing to pay for it. I'll be happy to have a chat with you about my experience in the sector and what sort of functionality could make your product interesting. I found you on linkedin so I'll send you a connection request on there.
- ffournier 5y agoYes, that's probably right. The Real estate management is just inspired from a simple app I used here. My use of it (2 properties only) would actually fall under the free quotas of the platform, maybe 10€/year max for the photos of the move-in inspection. There's probably a lot we could add in there ! Thanks for reaching out to me, that's awesome ! ;-)
