I used to have an X1 Carbon 4th gen. I was super excited to get a 9th gen. I was utterly disappointed. The fan would turn on for no good reason and make noised. My 4th gen never did that. And the performance was not that different from my 4th gen. So, I returned it after a while. Got myself a Macbook Air M1. The hardware is brilliant. But to my taste, Mac OS is nowhere near close to how comfortable I was with my Linux/KDE setup. So now I'm backing marcan's effort to get Linux running on this device, but that doesn't seen to be close. Thus, I'm thinking of giving the Lenovo T14 Gen2 a try. As of now every moment I use the Air is pain.
