Automation is not only about time saving. Humans just can't be trusted to perform boring, repeating tasks reliably. Familiarity can lead to all sorts of issues, especially with mental fatigue built up over time. A computer does not have curse of knowledge, and is much less likely to change its behavior (forget to execute a line of code, or run a command it was not instructed to do) in the long run.
