That's a tough one.. I'm not sure you will find a design article on many specific type of websites, some of them are pretty small markets. For me, when I start to design a new style website, I usually browse through various similar sites and take screenshots or take notes of the features/design elements that I see that work. Also Design vary and styles change over time, if you are trying to be competitive start with checking out the competition ,and note what you can improve on such designs.
