This is a very interesting topic to me, I am on a team that is responsible for developing new ideas, innovations, IP. When the lock down first came, our production fell way off and it was difficult to come up with really creative stuff like we had in the past. We tried a bunch of different things, Teams, Bluejeans, Jamboard, Slack etc. etc. The interesting thing is that about a year into it, we started to pick up the pace and now I feel like we have adapted. We still have all those tools, but what I think changed is us, I think once everyone sort of accepted, OK, we are not getting back into a room together in front of a white board any time soon, we all started to figure it out. Now everyone feels like we can do just as well as before, maybe better, it just took a while for everyone to adapt to a new way of approaching brainstorming and innovation.
I think Humans are innately creative and innovative and will find a way.
But having said all that, I think there is an opportunity here to develop better tools for Brainstorming, maybe some sort of AR/VR or something.
