And plenty of us around the world understand the “postulate that a fetus is not a human being yet” to be the height of absurdity and insane, frankly, and therefore abortion is a matter of grave injustice: the murder of innocent and defenseless human persons.

They are not put forward as truths, but as a basis of coherent logical reasoning, ie: IF you accept postulate x as true, BASED on logical reasoning y, THEN you must logically accept conclusion z as true as well. I didn't offer support or denial of the postulate - just that the logic applied thereupon is consistent and coherent.
