Show HN: Nintendo 64 ROM made over the course of two months
- bdcravens 5y agoPlease change the background. Kinda hard to read your article for fear of getting dizzy lol
- danbolt 5y agoSorry if it was disorienting or difficult to look at! I've quadrupled the tween time to be much slower. Let me know if that helps. If it's still pretty bad, I can look into having it removed instead.
- ad404b8a372f2b9 5y agoIt made me feel sick almost instantly. Maybe making the central section completely opaque would help as well as changing the direction of the movement so it's not linear, and increasing the frame rate also.
- danbolt 5y agoI appreciate the feedback; I've removed the animation for now, as it sounds pretty bad for some audiences!
- gnyman 5y agoThis is lovely! Is this your first N64 game? How much documentation is there for aspiring N64 developers?
- danbolt 5y agoThank you! This is my second, albeit my first game is shorter and a bit less polished.[1] n64.dev is a pretty good place to start as far as links go.[2] People often use an old copy of the official SDK. There's also libdragon, which is a promising new open-source toolchain.
