I can't either, and indeed I don't analyze the options at a given employer that much.
But for people with chronic health conditions or who intend to start a family, there can be a huge difference between private and public sector positions due to health benefits.
There's no need for a spreadsheet and evaluating fine-grained differences, you look around at what your friends, family, and acquaintances do and why.
