SF Millennium Tower Tilts Quarter Inch in Four Days
- spoonjim 5y agoThis building is fucked and I wonder when people are going to accept that.
- jqpabc123 5y agoProbably when the next moderate size earthquake gives it a good shake.
- spoonjim 5y agoI just hope they don’t wait for it to fall and crush some innocents.
- toomuchtodo 5y agoThey absolutely will. It’s West Coast Surfside. Fighting Until Failure. Avoid dwelling in the building shadow.
- gremloni 5y agoEven after all the changes I watched in the practical engineering video?
- dilyevsky 5y agoThat project made it way worse

- BXLE_1-1-BitIs1 5y agoBuilding failure can happen in unexpected ways. We were watching a brick Victorian era office block on fire. The roof peak was leaning over the street and we and the fire department were expecting it to fall onto the street which had been cordoned off. The triangular top of the peak fractured horizontally lower down and the rotation around the fracture line pushed the wall below back into the building and successively collapsed each floor. Unfortunately there were firefighters inside. A couple did hospital time.
- phendrenad2 5y agoPast tense - this happened a month ago the last time they tried to fix it. Still no updates since then, I think. Our top Tyler Durdens are calculating the relative cost of letting it fall over.
- mesinaround 5y agoSo out of curiosity, which direction is it tilting …. May or may not live nearby
