There is no such thing as child pornography, only child sexual abuse images. Hammer this into your head, children cannot consent, and pornography is a legitimate form of adult entertainment.
- horsawlarway 5y agoAt the risk of stating the very obvious... There are plenty of forms of pornography that do not require a literal subject to pose for picture or video. While I would be strongly against allowing distribution of real people, I find it much harder to argue against material that is generated. (whether that's art/CGI/cartoons/thispersonisnotreal.com/etc)
- philipkglass 5y agoIf only I could be sure that all illegal images were also abusive images. Two seventeen year olds having consensual sex is not abusive and is legal in Washington state. Two seventeen year olds sharing sexually explicit images of themselves with each other ("sexting") is not abusive either but is not legal anywhere in the United States. Over-zealous officials sometimes threaten teens with crimes for making images of themselves. As long as the law criminalizes consensual images produced by randy teens in addition to abuse of children, this ambiguity will persist.
