I tried to open an account a while back as there were a lot of coders on Twitter that I wanted to follow. I almost immediately shut the account down due to 1) the utterly broken search and 2) the sheer number of 'suggested' accounts or trends to follow.
Even if you aren't concerned about issues that this account brings up it is a miserable user experience.
- teetertater 5y agoI opened an account 3 weeks ago and had pretty much the same experience. But.. then I unfollowed every verified account and topic, and it got much better. Once you find a few accounts you like it's easier to find more. Since then I've discovered many cool resources and been invited to niche dev communities. It's too early to say if it's worth it yet but I would say yes if I can grow to a few hundred followers. (At that point you have supported to boost product hunt launches, people to give feedback, amplify your support issues, etc)
- pixelgeek 5y agoI just found it to be a wall of noise. It didn't give me any sense that I had any control over what was going on.
