I love that a service to detect outages had an outage because there was an outage on their provider, which is most likely the same provider that most of their customers are running services on that they want outage monitoring for
Can't say I'm thrilled that they "learned" to move to a different region than the one that went down today. They do also say they'll also add redundancies in other regions, but the fact that it's written in a way that implies switching regions is the more important of the two changes is a bit strange, and in any event means the service is still dependent on the same AWS products. Definitely an improvement but I guess I would've expected a product like this to already be running across multiple providers and not just AWS, so it's certainly surprising to me that they were utilizing only a single region.
