You might think this is how it turns out but that’s not been my experience. I once made the mistake of responding to a Facebook recruiter that I could not work there because I believe it makes the world a worse place and wouldn’t be ethical. The recruiter instead launched into a whole bit about how they felt the same way, changed their mind, ba ba ba. We went back and forth several times, fairly pleasantly. The guy _still_ contacts me every few months like clockwork. I’ve stopped responding at this point.
