Here in NYC we call these folks 'Manhattanites against the Manhattanization of Manhattan'. Shockingly, quite a few of them exist.
- mandevil 5y agoWalking my kid to his second favorite playground on the Upper East Side, there was a sign opposing the shadows from the Blood Center Tower (https://www.nytimes.com/2021/11/18/nyregion/new-york-blood-center-manhattan-development.html https://www.nytimes.com/2021/11/18/nyregion/new-york-blood-c...). Because why should Manhattan have a gasp 23 story building! It would ruin the character of this neighborhood in Manhattan to have a building that is 70 meters high! What utter nonsense.
