I agree with pretty much every point besides the author's desire for significant whitespace. Please no. Whitespace is for people and readability, not the compil

  Significant whitespace is one of the things that irks me the most about the likes of Python, I'll take C-style braces over significant whitespace any day. I actually prefer the Rust approach here as well, removing the single-statement shortcut makes sense, as all it does in my view is cause issues, and I have it baked into my code styles for it not to be used.
