That case was an example of when they believed women, white women to be more specific, over males, black to be more specific. The white female accuser repented 50 years later for her accusations to the lynched and murdered 14 year old boy. This case was one of the first well documented #metoo cases with no due process at all.

- smt88 5y agoTying Emmett Till to #MeToo is nonsensical at best and astonishingly repulsive at worst. Till was literally slaughtered because of the false accusation. The woman faced no consequences. The #MeToo movement was about the opposite: men who were credibly accused of a crime and not investigated at all. The woman then has her character assassinated and, often, her career destroyed. There is no analogy here. They are unrelated events from vastly different times. No man has been slaughtered because of #MeToo. Very few have even stopped being wealthy.
