I have the same fear. It's very daunting. It's not that I don't know how to set up an email server, it's that I know just enough to be dangerous, but not enough to be reliable. There's so much nuance and it's easy to let things lapse, or make a small mistake and silently get all your mail rejected, lose/corrupt a bunch of data, etc.
