I've never used Brave (simply because I really like Firefox as my daily driver) so I can't speak to the qualities. But it seems ad blocking is always mentioned as a feature. Might I recommend trying piHole at the intake into your homes. Instead of relying on the application doing filtering, simply do it for the whole network (yes, caveats apply).
