Unfortunately I still see too many people use Adblock plus and the like which leads me to believe ublock origin lacks some sort of name or brand recognition with your average user
- sofixa 5y agoI think ABP+ was just first to mass market penetration, and people still associate it - ad blocker -> ad block plus.
- i13e 5y agoABP's purpose is in its name. If a layperson only knew uBO by it's name best case they'd be confused and worst case they'd think it's malware (even though it's phenomenal)
- ChainOfFools 5y agoon a fresh install of FF, if I click on extensions it shows AdBlock± as the first in a list of suggested add-ons. Also in that list is Ghostery. no sign of UBlock Pay for placement?
- 0xdeadb00f 5y agoI haven't looked at the recommended add-on page for a while but I do recall ublock being on there at one point.
- akvadrako 5y agoABP just works better. I've tried uBlock a couple times and always had more problems with it.
