I second that. For me programming deals far more with literary concepts like metaphors and analogies rather than math ones(mostly logic). This becomes especially apparent once you start dealing with higher and higher level languages. So reading and understanding good literature is important in my opinion and gives an edge in many fields later on, including programming.
