Not only that - the most noxious and tragic consequence of the whole Woke movement is that it has positively energized the right (and caused many moderates to tilt more strongly right), by basically validating every negative trope and stereotype they've every had about the politically correct social justice movement. In fact it's practically given them a whole new raison d'être and a lease on continued political life, without which they might be more or less on the ropes (or at least in significantly greater danger of waning), given the objective failings of their ideology, as such. On top of, as the article dissects so well, fomenting distrust, discord and cynicism within the left-wing spectrum itself. Wokeness hasn't merely "split" the left; it has essentially cleaved it into two mutually mistrustful camps, to an extent I've never observed my politically aware lifetime.
