But from the perspective who wants games to Just Work? I'd like it to be otherwise but Windows still owns that.
- shmerl 5y agoThat has been improving a lot, and now Windows own advantage can be used for Linux gaming - you can run most Windows games on Linux. MS can of course mess it up, but that helps Linux grow now, eventually making more developers release for Linux proper.
- Shared404 5y agoI in fact do so! I daily drive Linux, and do 95+% of my gaming on it - I just also recognize that it is an 'unsupported configuration'. It works well enough for me and for many/most people, but it will never be as 'out of the box' as Windows, until the fabled Year of the Linux Desktop arrives.
- shmerl 5y agoSame, I do all my gaming on Linux. And it surely improved by a huge margin in the recent years. There are some issues to resolve yet, but it's surely usable for a wide range of people now and I'd totally recommend it even if Windows can be simpler to use in some cases.
