I live in a rural part of Florida, and we have experienced outages as long as 2.5 weeks. I went with the 26kw air-cooled model, and getting that installed along with a 1,000gal propane tank (and 800 gal of propane) was done for $18k. Our biggest load is HVAC, to run two AC units (5 ton and 3 ton). During an extended outage, we'd shut down half the house.
