Joel Yliluoma's arbitrary-palette positional dithering algorithm
- MarkLowenstein 5y agoGreat write-up with good ideas, clear code, and graphic detail. However my brain hurt more than necessary to read it. Two easy improvements could be made: - Make each picture expand to 2x or 3x magnification on hover. We want to see the pixels, but opening each picture on a new page and having to magnify from there is crippling. - Answer the reader's mental question first. Every reader is coming in to see how well the algorithm does against existing options. Have representative pictures at the top of: the original, result of one or two standard algorithms, and result of the best Yliluoma variation you have to offer.
- ziggus 5y agoI love Bisqwit's stuff - he has such a pure love for code and technology, that I always come away from his videos or articles with a renewed vigor for coding. Thanks for your part in making the world's knowledge just a bit bigger.
