People don't need to know each other's salaries, and your employer already publishes your salary history in case another company needs to verify it while negotiating with you (Work Number, InVerify, etc.).
- GianFabien 5y agoThat practice simply works in the favor of employers. They can negotiate downwards if you are already being under-paid. It also provides a disincentive to change jobs if you can't get a sufficiently big increase.
