Why do you not care? Github hosts a huge volume of code. It's also owned by Microsoft. To date, Microsoft has been pretty hands off in their ownership. But now the CEO and COO are gone, at the same time as Microsoft is ramping up its offensives on other fronts [0], [1].
Related? Maybe not. But it doesn't seem unreasonable to ask if there's anything significant in the CEO and COO leaving in close succession given the impact of a change in policy.

With GitHub, I doubt much of anything will change. In 5-10 years then yes I forsee massive industry changes...think of commiting your code in the meta-verse or in VR using Apple Glass. Git as a protocol arrived in what 2008, surely by 2038 we will all be using some different protocol. Change happens.
- usrbinbash 5y ago>think of commiting your code in the meta-verse or in VR using Apple Glass How is that different from what I do today in my terminal? The code is text. A delta of that text is uploaded to a repository. "metaverse" is just a pretty marketing-term. Underneath, it's yet another I/O-device. And btw. I have yet to see anything in VR, and I use my Quest2 almost daily, that could even come close to the efficiency and simplicity of writing code on a keyboard, and controlling software with commands typed into a terminal.
