For front-end development where you already using GQL as a layer on top of content I can see the use case for this. A lot of old systems have this tight coupling between databases and back-end code. I would advice against going down that path. GraphQL was designed to solve the flaws in the utterly poor service design at Facebook. Do not forget that.
