Another Classic Case of Corporate Callousness

- proofbygazing 5y agoDamn that's messed up. Sorry about your sister.
- hoschicz 5y agoDo you think this would have happened if you weren't employed through a contractor?
- leesec 5y agoNope. I would have had better bereavement pay and more legal recourse. There's a long story about how I was meant to brought in house but the employer dropped the ball there as well.
- msarrel 5y agoI'm sorry this had to happen to you. I know how it feels because something like this happened to me. And it happened to me at a silicon valley startup. Except the story ended differently, it ended up with me quitting. They were so angry at me that my mother died at the end of a quarter. But the same thing, don't worry we'll take care of you, followed by absolute callousness that was, worst of all, disrespectful towards my deceased mother. The way I see it is now you know what your company is capable of and how they value you. You can find someone better to work for.
- leesec 5y agoSorry to hear this friend.
