While we're on this topic from another website (not Airbnb) my family booked a week long stay at what we assumed was a house dedicated to holiday stays (and not someone's actual home). Turns out the house is also listed on AirBnB and someone does live there (food in the fridge, stuff in drawers, locked bedrooms). I think the person who booked it must've missed some detail, but we assumed because we specifically didn't use Airbnb, that we weren't going to be staying in someone's actual home.
