I'd rather be vaccinated than someone force Covid on me. To me, if you choose to be unvaccinated, you are showing how little you care about those around you and how little you care if they die.
- guilhas 5y agoThose around me, or are vaccinated so it does not matter, or chose not to be vaccinated in which case also does not matter I would rather no one forces anything on anyone
- disambiguation 5y agoIs an unlisted side effect of the vaccine self righteous bottom feeding? Seriously have you donated blood this year? Or anything you all? Being vaccinated is not a free ticket to make value judgements on everyone else's sense of compassion.
- Broken_Hippo 5y agoI'm not sure how I'm supposed to have more than basic compassion - the same I have for humanity - for folks that aren't showing compassion for others. It is a free vaccine. I do not extend this judgement to folks that aren't healthy enough. I'm judging folks by choices, just like you are judging me by my choice to speak my mind.
- disambiguation 5y agoI'm not telling you to love anyone. I'm saying that equating those that choose against the vaccine to being "selfish and lacking compassion" is wrong and dangerous.
- SideburnsOfDoom 5y agoBut it is in fact selfish, and dangerous to others, to choose against the vaccine when you can get it for free and you are healthy. It is that simple. It is wrong and dangerous to ignore the impact of your choices on those around you.
- disambiguation 5y agoYou know what else is selfless, free, and easy? Self quarantining. We know for a fact this works. You can't spread the virus if you don't come in to contact with others -- minus animal transmission. Given the vaccinated can still get infected and spread the disease, it begs the question if they're not being totally selfish by not self quarantining at the expense of everyone else?
- SideburnsOfDoom 5y ago> Given the vaccinated can still get infected and spread the disease, it begs the question if they're not being totally selfish by not self quarantining Nothing about preventing disease is "all or nothing", it's all about risk reduction, which is why vaccines are important. Total quarantine for everyone is obviously unworkable, so suggesting that vaccinated people do "Self quarantining" is not a workable alternative to practical risk reduction measures such as vaccination and masks. This is nonsense, and misdirection.
