no country is not going to see a variant. especially not one as big and with as much international traffic & commerce as china.

The only people saying China won't get Omicron are the state newspapers in China.. of course they're going to get it. Especially since they are hosting the Olympics in ~2 months and it will certainly be the dominant strain by then.

    I’m sure they would tell you the truth if they did have it and not down play the situation.

      There are lot of ways we'd be easily able to tell if covid was actually common in China and being hidden. People are still traveling out of China, and they take antibody tests. Mask adherence was already a thing in China before this pandemic, so I don't find it hard to believe compliance is very high and China doesn't have major problems with the pandemic.

You don’t actually think the Chinese border is 100% closed do you? It is not. That is like saying the border from the US to Mexico is closed no more Mexicans are coming into the US. We know that is also not true.
