Not from an interview, but I once took a small contract for some kind of data processing work. The guy who hired me was insisting that HTTP was an asynchronous protocol. I corrected him, thinking "oh, it's no big deal, he might've just misspoke," but the guy became absolutely irate. Hey buddy, not my fault you've never read the RFC.
