What's interesting to me is that CS adjacent fields are going through the same teething pains as CS for how to conduct interviews. My background is in engineering and I'm familiar with the terrible experiences the article's author has had. At least now there is some awareness and acceptance that there are bad ways to conduct interviews and that stopping that just might be a good idea. Since then I've moved into the data science/ML world and its like starting at square zero. The field is broader and deeper than CS. Interviews are like being a ping pong ball being smashed on one side by someone with a PhD in physics and aggressively returned in kind by an economist.
