- giantg2 5y agoI built a flow hood sort of thing with a HEPA filter. It works pretty well. I assume I'll have some losses to contamination when culturing from spores, as they likely exist with/on the spores. I can still usually get 2 or 3 out of five agar dishes. I also bought some liquid liquid cultures that I believe had the contaminates in them already since some were fine and it's pretty difficult to contaminate using a sterile needle injecting into a sterile sealed bag (waiting on replacements now).
