So people who are actually talented singers will sound weird in the future? Now that's dystopian. I honestly hear auto-tune pretty quick. It bothers me that other people don't seem to notice it so easily.

Maybe not weird so much as not standard. For example, guitarists with good dynamics-control sound different than guitarists of arbitrary dynamics-control quality with a compressor/limiter at the front of their chain.
