What other suggestions do you have for what "we" could do? China won't do anything, neither will India or Russia, by the way. So what are we doing? It'll boil down to effectively taxing companies and people. I skipped ahead a few steps in the discussion. Sorry for spoiling it.
- revolvingocelot 5y agoI don't think you really understand what the word "discussion" means. But I'll bite -- well, I'll nibble. The weasel words "effectively taxing" can be twisted to cover literally every policy lever possible to deploy in our current democracy-corporatocracy, from actually taxing to removing the massive subsidies currently enjoyed by polluting industries to adding subsidies to better solutions, so between that and your baseless assertions, you're "right" by preemptive technical knockout: you "win". Since you assert that use of policy levers are all "Hilary"-class hubris, a signifier of other... "cognitive differences" between us, I don't think a discussion with you will be fruitful; you're clearly not "discussing" in good faith.
