I found out last week that remarkable runs everything (including the main UI) as root. Was quite surprising to find a modern linux device built this way.
- 1_player 5y agos/surprising/irresponsible/ If I run my pc as root, I'm the master of my own demise. If I run a device with software running as root, my demise is not even in my own hands. I can't wait for drive-by malware to install the Ask Jeeves toolbar on someone's Remarkable.
