For the USA at least, we stopped putting cocaine in coca cola, we stopped advertising cigarettes to children, put limits on child labor, and many similar actions. Leaning towards maximizing liberty does not mean no or few limits. As sAbakumoff said: > your liberty ends where the right of other people to live begins. Cigarette smoking for example as a negative impact on non-smokers, but has not been outlawed. Due to smoking's impact though smoking is now more limited in many public areas, restaurants, and other areas. So if covid continues to cause more deaths than second hand smoke I can see and understand laws and regulation around it.
