Whenever I see questions regarding virtualization security I sometimes wonder what percentage of malware is VM-aware. It would make sense to leverage software that users have a false sense of security in. That's not to say most virtualization solutions can't provide a fair amount of isolation and thwart non-sophisticated attacks, but they aren't air-tight by any stretch.
