Sweden Put Covid Passport Microchip into Hands
- 1cvmask 5y agoThe latest variant of branding
- smt88 5y agoIs it? Can you find a source that says this is happening and the government is mandating it?

- dane-pgp 5y agoFor another English language source on this claim, there's a Vice article from a couple of weeks ago: "Thousands are injecting themselves with microchips that do everything from unlock doors and make payments to store COVID vaccine certificates." https://www.vice.com/en/article/wxd8j4/inside-an-online-community-of-people-with-microchip-implants https://www.vice.com/en/article/wxd8j4/inside-an-online-comm...
- smt88 5y agoThis isn't another source on this claim. It's completely unrelated to any claim that "Sweden" is doing anything.
- dane-pgp 5y agoSorry, you're right. The Vice article does note the prevalence of microchipping in Sweden specifically, though: > In fact, it’s fairly common in Sweden, where thousands of people have embraced the technology that opens doors and turns on light switches.
- dane-pgp 5y agoI do wonder whether those who support mandatory medical procedures would draw the line at such a bodily intervention. Presumably since the "benefit" of an implant is only administrative, and doesn't directly affect how likely you are to spread disease, they wouldn't think it was justified. However, if large numbers of people started using faked health passports, and microchips made that harder for people to get away with, perhaps there would be societal demand for it.
- smt88 5y agoThis is very blatant disinformation. Sweden's government isn't forcing anyone to have chips inserted.

- Someone 5y agoI think that’s Swedes, not Sweden. Reading https://eufactcheck.eu/factcheck/true-microchips-are-getting-under-the-skin-of-thousands-in-sweden/ https://eufactcheck.eu/factcheck/true-microchips-are-getting..., implanting a chip in one’s hand is somewhat (relative to other countries) popular in Sweden.
