For all my engineering experience, apart from CTO and Freelancer, I also have listed 'Engineer'. I've been a senior engineer for some years now and still refuse to align with whatever each company chooses to name me. I worked in a body-shop as a junior, but they sold me as a senior to the client, so I got lucky early on to realize this is just smoke and mirrors. I haven't really had any problems with it and when people ask during interviews, I usually tell them it's up to them to gauge my seniority, I have no idea.
