But if it were legislatively possible, would there be any down sides to society as a whole to flipping the script? Meaning make banks the ones responsible for opening an account without doing due diligence? Make credit reporting companies the ones responsible for essential libeling someone for fraudulent credit report entries… I can’t think of any, banks would have to pay to do due diligence but most businesses should have to.
