Not actually related to your post, but as a non native English speaker, it took me a lot of time to remember the meaning of "SO" on mainstream Internet. I don't know why, but I kept forgetting it and wasn't able to infer its meaning, so each time I had to look for it. Nowadays it's ok, to the point that reading your comment I was able to understand that it was not the mainstream "SO" you were talking about, but another one more related to HN. Anyway, what I found funny in this is that I can think as "SO" being my "SO" because I 100% relate to what you shared.
