Apple’s AR headset coming next year with ‘Mac-level’ power: report
- amacalac 5y agoWith the advent of the M1 chips, this level of power doesn't surprise me. I'm excited to see what it will be, and I'm hopeful it's a HoloLens competitor.
- Someone 5y agoI think the lightest device with a M1 that you can buy now is the 11” iPad Pro. It weighs about half a kilogram and has a volume of about a quarter of a liter. Weight-wise, that’s about what the HoloLens weighs. Volume-wise, I can’t find numbers for HoloLens 2, but I guesstimate it’s similar, too. So, yes, it seems they can fit an M1 into a headset, but I expect it will be a bit bulky. I think Apple would want to have something less bulky.
