- orev 5y agoIf the turkey is terrible, it’s probably not because it was frozen. “Never frozen” is a marketing gimmick and actually produces a worse result than a frozen one. Freezing makes the thing extremely hard and very resilient to rough handling (like what’s needed for shipping). Bruising and other damage is greatly reduced when frozen. And if frozen correctly (slowly), the cells in the meat are not badly damaged. In contrast, a “never frozen” turkey can only be shipped in an extremely narrow range of temperatures, and rough handling can cause deep damage to both the meat and bones.
