I'm more concerned about the development of superviruses. Imagine something more lethal than ebola with the transmissibility of the flu. This is how I think our civilisation will end & I also think it's the reason why there doesn't seem to be anyone out there.

Reminds me how the old-world diseases wreaked havoc in the Americas in the 16-19th centuries: It is estimated that current-day Mexico's population had plummeted from 25 million to 1 million between 1500 and 1550. Even the bubonic plague in Europe in the 1350s did not have such a devastating effect.
