Congress decimates 911's digital upgrade
- jfengel 5y agoThe headline is a bit confusing. This isn't an upgrade in progress. It was a proposed upgrade, with one committee proposing $10 billion and the current proposal including only $.5 billion. The only person quoted in TFA as being opposed to this is the head of the company who would be receiving the money. The general idea seems like a good one (better tech at 911 call centers), but this seems like ordinary negotiation over price and priorities.
