Graphics for Linux Without X – Beginner's Guide to SVGAlib
- wruza 5y agoIf you want to feel nostalgic of dos era, it’s fine. Otherwise, any modern library will do better for a beginner. provides an easy way to create graphical applications and eliminates the rigmarole of the X Window System. If you have even the most rudimentary grasp of programming in C, then you can use SVGAlib. I’d just use gdk+cairo mixed with sdl iff needed. Even x11+cairo isn’t too hard: https://www.cairographics.org/Xlib/ https://www.cairographics.org/Xlib/ Or löve2d. The level of functionality of svga-like libs is far behind what you usually need, beginner or pro.
