I agree with that with one important caveat. I wouldn't trust multi terabyte drives in raid 5 sets to not suffer cascading failures during a rebuild after a single drive failure/replacement. I'd consider two file servers or NAS boxes with the same type/brand/model of drives in raid 5, to be "the same media type" in the context of that advice.
