Feds send 2 medical teams to support Michigan hospitals during Covid surge
- onecommentman 5y agoCovid or no, the idea and implementation of a National medical strike force for emergency deployment in the US seems like a good thing. Any medical system can be overwhelmed in any number of ways, whether by an infectious agent outbreak, earthquake, etc. Does any State have a medical equivalent to the National Guard?
- op00to 5y agoThe national guard would fulfill that role, no?
- Throwawayaerlei 5y agoMembers of the National Guard who are qualified to do healthcare jobs are generally going to be doing the same thing in their civilian lives.
- redis_mlc 5y ago> a National medical strike force for emergency deployment Or, you know, spread an infectious disease further in a pandemic. What the article failed to mention, likely because of political correctness ... The two medical teams are being sent to cities with large Muslim communities - Dearborn has the largest Muslim community in the US, and also Grand Rapids. So it would be interesting to find out if US Muslims are refusing the corona vaccines on a large scale. Some Muslim leaders have said it's permissible, but there is some concern whether the original cell lines are halal or not.
